Huge skies at the windy coastline of the far Northwest of Scotland were rapidly changing making sudden changes to the light. Glittering sharply one moment then casting deep shadows as glowering rain clouds appeared, this made for a challenging but exciting painting experience. The energy in the sky above required rapid work to capture the intensity of the light and the sense of vast vistas. The prehistoric volcanic rocks lay like primeval creatures formed by the relentless crashing of the tides perched at the edge of the sea. The nearest neighbours are in Iceland!
