Lingering Light on the Loch

From Ballachulish looking across the water (Loch Linnhe) at the mesmerising light as it turned to a breathtaking setting sun in the dusk. The golden shimmers on the water were so rich as the twilight bathed every ripple to an apparent flat calm of soft hues of blue and amethyst. It was so quiet I had to remember to breathe whilst trying to capture the sight and the mood of the moment. From the small study I created a much bigger work in the comfort of my studio. The vastness of the water insisted on a big canvas.
