A rare moment without rain in the aftermath of Storm Babet during a tremendously valued few days on Arran. It was the rutting season so I was surrounded by the sounds of the stags on the hill as they demonstrated their suitability and supremacy. I kept struggling with the cold as my fingers were numb being whipped by a fiercely bitter wind. Well what did I expect at this time of the year?! The subtle colours were still bright for the moment and it was a really memorable afternoon. Generous friends had given us their hospitality in their delightful home on the island for which I am immensely grateful. Thank you A and N. This painting is now framed.
